    Directions

    Green Masala Pan Fried Mackerel Fish Recipe is made with mint, coriander, curry leaves and green chillies. Recipe with step by step pictures.

    Clean and wash the Mackerel fish thoroughly. Slit them side ways.

    Keep all the ingredients ready.

    Take all the ingredients in a mixie and grind it to a coarse paste. Use the pulse mode and grind them evenly. Do not add water while grinding. Add juice of a lemon to the mixie jar. Pulse again for a few seconds.

    Transfer the ground masala into a bowl and add a teaspoon of oil. Combine well

    Apply the green masala on both the sides of the fish including the gashes.

    Keep the fish marinated for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

    In a grill / frying pan heat oil. Add the marinated fish in the hot pan in single layer. Cook the fish over medium heat for 5 minutes and flip over the other side.

    Continue to fry the other side of the fish for another 4-5 minutes until they are cooked and turned crispy.

    Tips : You may thinly coat the fish in maida (all purpose flour) on both the sides. This step would help so the masala do not disintegrate in oil while fried. Frying time of the fish varies according to the size of the fish.
