A fish tunnel aquarium along with live pets, games and exhibition has opened in Kukatpally, near to Nexus mall. This is located in the exhibition ground of Kukatpally housing board colony and it is open from 4 PM till 10 PM.
Location & Parking: The exhibition is located on the service road, of Kukatpally housing board road which leads to Nexus mall.
The exhibition has good parking space for Cars and Bikes. The parking charges for car is Rs. 50.
Tickets: For adults, the ticket price is Rs 150, while children (aged from 3-12) are charged Rs 120.
This aquarium has many tunnels with many small aquariums. Each aquarium has different varieties of fishes, of different sizes and of different colors.
The exhibitors has made effort in bringing different types of fishes in a single location, but it would have been really helpful, if they could have displayed the name of the fish and other details for the benefit of the visitor. The last tunnel had small fishes on one end of the tunnel to big monster fishes like the “Arapaima” towards the other side of the tunnel.
After the aquarium, you will enter into an area of live pet animals. Here, they have kept different kinds of birds like Macaw, Love birds and different species of Parrots.
The main attraction here is a pair of Ostriches that is housed at the entrance of the hall.
The other attraction is the Iguana. The exhibitors will help you to hold iguana and pose for pics, if you are interested.
I would say that there are a good variety of birds in this section, however, since there was no name displayed in each cage, it become more of a see and walk along experience, rather than an informational tour.
As you come out of the bird section, you will see a lot of stalls in the exhibition selling different products like accessories, stationaries, clothing, toys and others.
This underwater tunnel zoo is certainly a good place to visit with your kids, but always check if it is crowded before going. Sometime, during the weekend it may get too crowded, thereby causing inconvenience to everyone visiting this exhibition. I also saw camel and horse rides outside the exhibition.
Overall, if you want to spend an hour or two within the city, then you can visit this site.
